Jens E. Christensen

Organ

Jens E. Christensen is an organist at Our Saviour's Church in Copenhagen and for more than twenty years was a teacher at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

During his long and highly respected career Jens E. Christensen has premiered numerous works by Danish composers such as Bernhard Lewkovitch, Bent Lorentzen, Per Nørgård and Ib Nørholm. He has a long list of recordings on his résumé, counting Iberian organ music, J.S. Bach's Clavierübung III. Teil and Orgelbüchlein, the organ works of the Danish composers Franz Syberg and Per Nørgård, the Organ Concerto by Ib Nørholm, and organ pieces by Gorecki and Gubaidulina.

In 1980 Jens E. Christensen won the Danish Music Critics Award for playing Fernando Paer's Organ Concerto.
