Johnny Teyssier

Clarinet

French-American clarinetist Johnny Teyssier is the solo clarinetist of the Danish National Symphony. He has previously held positions with the Malmö Symphony and the Minnesota Opera Orchestra.

As a soloist, he has appeared with the Danish National Symphony, the Malmö Symphony, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Irish Chamber Orchestra. He is the winner of the Ico Ardán Award and the Juventus Prize. An equally committed chamber musician, Teyssier is a member of the Sixth Floor Trio, a chamber ensemble that explores diverse musical styles. He attended the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, studying with Donald Montanaro, Pamela Frank and Ford Lallerstedt, and the Colburn School in Los Angeles studying with Yehuda Gilad.
