Recording of 4 new works for Recorder and Choir

August the 8th Michala will start recording in Christianskirken in Copenhagen  of 4 new works written for her by Swedish Daniel Böertz, Lituanian Ugis Prawlins, Danish Peter Bruun and Sunleif Rasmussen from Faroe Islands. DR Vocal Ensemble will be conducted by Stephen Layton from UK. Release is scheduled to be mid November 2011

July the 9th an amazing concert will take place in Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore. The title is " Colours of the Wind: A Dialogue between Recorder and Dizi" !<br>Singapore Chinese Orchestra conducted by Tsung Yeh will present Michala Petri and Tang Jun Qiao in a programm with a worldpremiere Eric Watsons "Duo Concertante for Recorder and Dizi", and Michala Petri playing Vivaldi and Thomas Koppel " Moonchilds Dream" and Tang Yun Qiao playing Guo Wenjing " In Sorrow of Desolated Mountain".

Michala Petri is recording these days in Hong Kong a new CD "English Recorder Concertos" with City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong conducted by Jean Thorell. The works are 3 generations of English composers: Gordon Jacob: Suite, Malcolm Arnold: Recorder Concerto and Richard Harvey: Concerto Incantato.

Michala Petri and Grammy Winning Vocal Ensemble Ars Nova performs Wild Ways by Roxanne Panufnik in Garnisionskirken in Copenhagen Wedensday May the 18th. Other composers on the programme are Ib Nørholm, Sunleif Rasmussen, Weyse, Gade, Carl Nielsen and Kulau.

Michala just premiered a new piece for recorder and choir by Lituanian composer Ugis Prawlins "The Nightingale", on H.C.Andersens fairy tale. The commision of the piece is a collaboration between OUR Recordings and Danish Radio Vocal Ensemble conducted by Stephen Layton. In August the piece will be recorded together with Swedish composer Daniel Börtz "Nemesis Divina", and a new piece by Danish composer Bent Sørensen.

I just accepted an invitation from China Symphony Development Foundation for giving a speech in Jinan in March this year.They invited me to talk about the Dialogue-East meets West projects that I have been working on now for more than 6 years. The participant in the summit will be all Chinese Symphony Orchestras, their managers and conductors!

20 years Anniversary Tour in Danish Churches 2011

CCTV Broadcast of The Dialogue Gala Concert from EXPO in Shanghai

Tomorrow CCTV Music Channel will broadcast the Dialogue Gala Concert from EXPO in Shanghai that I curated. I worked on this project for more than 2 years, and finally I feel the job is done with this broadcast! <br>The concett has already been broadcast in China in July, and now Thursday and Friday on one of the most important Channels in China CCTV 15 Music Channel. Danish Radio/TV also did 2 broadcast on the concert in December 2010. I am very proud that I succeded to reach my goal, but it was only because I was part of a fantastic team! -&nbsp; both on the Danish and Chinese side! Together we did this wonderful Dialogue project, for a better future!! Music can cross the borders!!
