Østjysk Musikforsyning hed et legendarisk såkaldt underholdningsorkester, der i 2009 pensionerede sig efter 37 års spilleri. I samme periode var Århus fødested for en lang række rockgrupper og -solister, der i høj grad tegnede dansk rock. Musikforsyningen fra Østjylland, især Århus, handler dog om meget andet, end pop og rock. Også den klassiske musik i det østjyske har fostret store navne, både komponister og musikere de seneste mange årtier, især har vor egen tids "klassiske" musik, været flot tilgodeset af østjyderne.
